Caring Society, NO MORE!

Has Malaysia became a not caring society? Or this country is never a caring society? Or its about the skin colour now?

This incidence occurred while I was taking LRT to work this morning. As usual, I board-ed the train at Bkt Jalil LRT station and stand at one of my favourite spot (which is by the door where I wont get sandwich-ed in between). The train reach the Sg. Besi station, more people boarded the train and among them was a pregnant lady. She walks in and found no seats left for her. She went on to stand at a corner in front of other passengers who were comfortably seated. I thought there would be people kind enough to offer her a seat. To my surprise, THERE AREN't! Looking at those who were seated in front of her were young and healthy passengers. I was left STUNNED!

More people boarded the train as the train proceeds to other stops toward the city. The pregnant lady was tryin her best to avoid people being cramp-ed towards her and I guess she's protecting herself and the baby inside. One station by one station passed by, and she was still left standing. I was looking at her, feeling disgusted at the situation and was helpless as I was standing as well. Finally, she hopped off at Chan Sow Lin Station. As the door closes, I saw her walking in discomfort as her right hand was placed at her hip. She went on and took a seat while waiting for her inter-change to Ampang.

My heart was in pain throughout the journey. At some point of time, I really couldnt bare to look at the situation. Anger starts to arise inside of me, but I couldnt do anything. LRT was packed with people and lashing out in anger is no help. ARENT YOU PEOPLE SEATED THERE NOT ASHAMED OF URSELF to LEAVE A PREGNANT LADY STANDING??!! I was left travelling to work with no words to describe the incident. All I can was prayin to God for someone kind enough to offer their seat to her. It breaks my heart too see this and I m sure my heart was cryin inside. Left speechless....

What has this country become? Wasnt Malaysia supposed to have a caring society? Wasnt the government tryin to create a 'Masyarakat Penyayang'? Even if this has got nothing to do with the government... then,WHERE IS THE HUMANITY OF MANKIND? Is it on the verge of being extinct? Or have human lost their SENSE of LOGIC or SENSE of FEELING? Or does skin colour affects one's logic? I dont know. I got no answer to all these.

To some of you people out there, maybe to you is something common. It's something you see it everyday. Heck you dont bother about it as it's not happening to you. I definitely will not agree to that statement. It's not common to me and never will be common to me.

I silently took a picture of it.. it's a little blur..

Will you ever offer your seat to people who needs it more? Would you help those who are in need of your help? How many of us are willing to do so? I will..

Comments:
the problem with Malaysian society is that we are largely ignorant or oblivious to these things.

Ppl are too preoccupied with their own problems and self preservation till they forget or ignorant about humanity.

worse still are some of the Malaysian youngsters, who seem to be living in their own world complaining, not realising that in actual fact they are already so much luckier than most ppl in the world. Less than half the world still lives with less than US$1 a day.

Humanity is lost, when people get too emotional focusing on things of hatred and discontent. Not realising the world out there has worse things happening. Sense of logic and feeling gets lost when ppl get too emotional for the wrong things that dun matter AND forget their place in the grand scheme of things.

dear,u always have that big heart :)

anonymous: that's why some of us jst have to do the part of making a difference at some point of life. we could not let the culture of caring and helping being extinct at our generation! We got to continue and live on the legacy!

Should I assume that you actually did try voicing that out loudly to those inconsiderate people in the train there and then?

yea i noe wt u mean... those inconsiderate ppl.
i will and i used 2 offer my seats 2 d elderly & pregnant women those days wen i used 2 take d lrt 2 work.

ure doing URSELF a favour.
i believe in karma.
what goes ard comes ard.

yea. but i guess it would rather be logical to allow ur seat to those who needs in. But, I guess it's in the morning. a lot of people will tend to use the 'sleepy-ness' or still in dream-land reason to say they didnt notice. :P

stephy: you are a girl. :P haha. let's see nxt time when u r pregnant, u take lrt ..see hw many times people let their seat to u. :P hahahaha..!

So, you actually did voice out there and then telling those stupid people to give the lady the seat?

My, my, what courage. If it was me, I would've just continue to be the hypocrite that I am and not speak a word. Heh.

zefiriel: nope. didnt voiced out anything. racial issue. :P hahaha. too many people there. but everyone was giving a stare at the lady in front. but she didnt gave a damn about it!
